Hi, I recently bought a HDMI-splitter because I have my tv plugged in on my pc as well as 2 monitors. One monitor is VGA, the other HDMI and my tv also HDMI. So I bought it because I always had to crawl under my desk to switch the cables. Now I get my display on my monitor and my tv, but the resolution is stuck on 640x480 and the option to change it is greyed out. Does anyone know how to fix this?

HDMI is a bidirectional cable, so it the TV sends back info like it's max resolution, etc. With a splitter, both devices are probably sending info back and it can't determine what to do.

If you want to use one or the other, get an HDMI switchbox instead. You can then press a button (or some come with a remote like mine did) and then switch back and forth to whatever HDMI output you want.

The other option, assuming your video card has it, is use the displayport on the video card and then get a displayport to hdmi adapter.

Problem is partially fixed. Had to change the modi on the HDMI monitors. Only problem remaining now is that when I turn off my monitor, my tv is getting weird green stripes on the screend. A HDMI switcher is not really a solution cause I want my tv to be copying my monitor and use them both at the same time sometimes.
