Help hooking up pc to hdtv to old receiver that doesn't have hdmi

i can hook my pc to the hdtv with a hdmi cord, but there isn't an input on my receiver to then hook it up to the receiver. is it possible to make the sound come out of the speakers and not the tv?

you need hdmi to RCA audio convertor, then plug RCAs into your receiver...
Or you need to use the 3.5 mm audio out on the computer, and get an adapter to make the ends RCA for the receiver...
