Please help me. Do i have a bottleneck? Whats even the problem?? In fortnite i have like 20 fps on low, even less at times. When i put the graphics to medium the fps stays the same. In GTA 5 i have 20 fps too! I was sure i have a cpu bottleneck, but the bottleneck calculator says that the cpu and gpu go perfectly together. Also i have tried to fix the problem by deleting all drivers with DDU (display driver uninstaller). I did it (btw DDU stopped windows from automatically downloading drivers), then i downloaded the latest drivers from nvidia experience. And that didnt fix anything. I have checked the thermal paste on the CPU and the seller put a little bit too much paste if thats ok?...
My setup:
CPU: Core i7 920
GPU: GTX 750
PSU: FEEL III 500ATX
Motherboard: Gigabyte ga-ex58-ud5 ver 1.0

That thing is absolutely useless. No connection with reality. Please don't use it.

You simply have an old system. It's not going to get great game performance.
Well yes, its an old system but i still dont get why i get the same fps on low and medium. My friend with a core i3 and an old gpu has better performance than me.

I had the same x58 platform. You could upgrade your gpu but as stated that's an old pc, it's going to be a limit.

If your power supply is old, you should replace it.

A fresh install of Windows would help. Gaming performance is also related to how many other process/programs are running, especially with the older i7 920.

That does not mean much. What core i3? an eight gen core i3-8100 would beat the crap out of an i7-920...

your CPU is 12 years old... as other said, there lies your problem!

No need to replace the power supply they can last a long time.

Video card upgrade don't help in his case since going from low to mid settings did not change the FPS that clearly shows the CPU is doing all it can.

No reason to do a fresh install of windows he can go into msconfig and stop all startup items except what is needed.

None that's worth any money.

For example, even a core i7-950, given that you can find one under $300, would only give a boost of 5% at best! Not. worth. it!

If you do not have the budget right now to get a new computer, I would just say stick to it for the moment and start to save to buy later a new one. And if you manage to get enough, you might even get one that will serve you for another decade.
