Help! I have a prob...

Hello guys.I have a problem with my PC.So,i have HP Pavillon computer with these specs:
X4 9650 Quad core CPU
6GB RAM
Pegatron motherboard...
250GB HDD
GT210 and I am using it just for playing some old games.This is the problem:Around 4 days I started my PC in the morning and it was running normaly,until the same day I started it at night and he required disc check,so I did it.When it was finished PC restarted and it stuck on Win7 welcome screen(did not freeze,just stuck there with that aero thing cycling)I turned it off and started again.This time it finished welcome screen and then just black screen appears with cursor on the middle.And it stuck again.I did HP diagnostic and everything was ok except HDD with BIOHD-8 error.I researched some things on net and asked my friends about it.Some say It needs new HDD,some says it registry error or motherboard problem,Can someone tell me more about it and help me (I am sorry for massive text,just want from you toot understand it)

Given the age of your system and the rarity of the HDD capacity you currently, it's highly likely that the HDD is failing or has failed. If you do't have anything important on the installation directory/ C: then you can try and format the drive and see if the OS install, often the OS can become corrupt and then show issues like that you've explained.
