HELP !! i5 vs i7 Blues

Hi All

Basically need help deciding between a i5 8th gen 1060gtx laptop vs i7 8th gen 1050ti laptop.
I'm leaning toward the i5 - the i7's 1050ti seems like a bottleneck - PS im a gamer

Probably most CPU/GPU intense game i play is Ark Survival Evolved.

What specific laptops are you looking at? If the i5 CPU has a "u" at the end, then don't get it. The "u" is designed for low power systems and the CPU will hold you back.

If the CPU is not a "u" part, then I would go with the i5. The 8th gen i5's have 4 cores with hyper threading, so it is basically a 7th gen i7. Those CPUs are more than enough for gaming. The 1060 will have a much bigger performance increase over the 1050ti than the i7 over the i5.

i5 8th gen 1060gtx laptop = Dell Inspiron G5 15-5587 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8300H up to 4.0GHz Processor 8MB Cache + 1060 gtx (H model)

i7 8th gen 1050ti laptop = ASUS GL503GE TRADITIONAL BLACK 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8750H up to 4.1GHz Processor 9MB Cache, 6x Cores, 12x Threads

Yeah, I would go with the Dell G5 all the way. That 8300h will be just fine for gaming and the 1060 is a decent step ahead of the 1050ti.
