Hi guys.

I need help to get the proper cards to run the setup I have on my title. I currently have 2x 27"@2560x1440p which makes it a combine resolution of 5120x1440p and want to add another. I want to run this at max settings when I get a 3rd one in due time. Currently I have a 670 and using just one monitor since I don't see the need to have 2 of them running at the same time without being fully utilised. I am thinking a CF setup with 7970s or grab a single 690 when the third one comes in a month from now. What's the best to do? Thanks.

You would be better off with a crossfire setup of 7970's most certainly. Eyefinity is a stronger multi monitor technology in comparison to the Nvidia offering. Also, you have more ram and stronger ram going into a multi monitor setup. A 690 is fine however the 4 gigabytes is really 2 spread among both cards so its not effectively 4 gigabytes. if you are serious about 3 displays 2 7970's will do the trick.

Ok so we have that narrowed down. Should I then go for a reference PCB i.e, the cards with AMD reference cooler and watercool them or just grab the best cards I can find, say MSI lightning since Sapphire's cards occupy 2.5 slots or XFX DD 7970 GHz edition?

I would say go with the air solution first and if you needed to water cool them you can approach it when you get there. I would go with the MSI lightning card over the XFX if the 2.5 slot solution from Sapphire wasn't enough air circulation for the card solution.

What brand monitors are ya using? Looking at a Crossover and a Yamakasi, just not sure about the South Korea connection. Microcenter has an Auria decently priced as well. Just curious how they look and what not.

Well I pre-ordered the 900D and I can cancel it if I want to. The reason I did that is because I wanted full custom watercooling for both cards and CPU. My Haf XM has so far failed with air cooling when I had 2 x GTX 670 DCUII. I guess time to decide. Maybe I get the case and watercool later and save money for at the moment.

The lightning goes for $600 a piece atm and XFX DD 7970 GHz can be had for 439.99 with manufacture rebate. so pretty much 409.99+ tax. Soo?

So I called one of the stores here and they don't have either MSI or Sapphire's top offering. I am doomed! And yes the pricing on that card is insane. I don't know how they justify that at all.

The waiting game won't work for me. I'm currently running with onboard graphics which make my 27" display 1080p and that's just horrible.

Also, case wise: should I wait for my order to come in at the end of the month or cancel it and find something cheaper and better at future watercooling minus any HAF cases, GT10 cases

Cases are more of a personal touch so that is up to you. The new corsair offering the 900D looks like a superb water cooling case. http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Obsidian-Series-Computer-CC-9011022-WW/dp/B00B1R8JT0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1360882985&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+900d also the Cosmos 2 but again its a personal statement and its up to you.

What a coincidence. I am looking at that same card. I wish they could have it for cheaper lol

I'm looking at the cost of everything right now and I think maybe taking a step back from 900D is the way to go. I was initially going to modify the 800D but then decided to just go for the 900D. Now I am questioning my decision. What about the NZXT Phantom 820?
