Hello,
First thing, I'm don't understand much about power supplies and even less in currents and electricity but I want to. Which, naturally, brings me here...
I have Thermaltake's Dr. Power II PSU diagnostics tool and I'm trying to figure out whether the results are really comprehensive enough [and whether it's only my lack of understanding that prevents me from realizing the PSU is functioning as it should].
Note: I have no reason to think my PSU is faulty, this is solely for testing & understanding purposes...
I connected all of my power supply's outputs into Thermaltake's Dr. Power II inputs and all voltages values [3.3v, 5v & 12V] seems to be on point. The thing is - there is nothing in regards to the amperage [whether it's producing correct values] and I've read that by knowing both the amperage and voltage I can calculate whether it'll be able to achieve the manufacturer's max load value [e.g. 650W].
My question is - if the Thermaltake's Dr. Power II shows that all of the voltage values are normal, how can I conclude that the PSU is in 100% working order and should be able to produce it's designated max load?
I hope I've managed to explain myself here... if something isn't clear, please tell me and I'll try to rephrase.
Thank you.
