I currently have a MSI GeForce GT 710, just basic office gaming, but a friend of mine gifted me his old ASUS HD 7870 and I plan on swapping it out and repurposing the GT710. I have never had a video card that requires additional power so I'm a bit confused.
First off, will my power supply be able to handle it? I would imagine so given how old this card is and my PSU is a bit more recent (Corsair RM650)
Second, the GPU has 2 x 6pin connectors on it, and shopping around I see a whole bunch of different cables 6+2 -> 8, male/female, dual cables, individual cables. and I'm not sure exactly what I need to buy. Can anyone help me out?
