Hi,
Please could you recommend me a perfect "budget" gaming pc; i currently have the graphics card listed in an older generation pc that is bottlenecking it.

Does this have good compatability and what size power unit would you recommend?

  • AMD FX6300
    Asus M5A78L or M5A97?
    HyperX FURY Series 8GB
    Kingston Technology 120GB
    Sapphire AMD Radeon R7 260X PCI-E Graphics Card - 1 GB
    Kingston Technology 120GB
    7200 rpm 500gb hard drive
Samsung 24x Retail SATA DVD Writer
    Windows 8

Total comes to around £360

Solution

Certainly I will explain, This CPU is actually more powerful than that 6300. I said future proof because the H97 board I gave you will support 5TH GENERATION Intel Cores, As...
Better build with alot more future proof upgrades with around the same price and better hardware.

With the SSD, this build has future proof options such as being able to use 5th gen intel cores and you can pair two High-End 290x's in crossfire :p, or just stick with on powerful card which I prefer.

I may be wrong but I believe my setup is more future proof?

The AMD processor has 6 cores @ 3.5 GHz - as opposed to 2 cores @3.7 Ghz and cheaper at £74
The HyperX FURY Series 8GB is 1866 Mhz - as opposed to 1600 Mhz and cheaper at £60
Motherboards - not much in it and dependent upon processor
between the SSD - not much in it, apart from the Kingstone one is cheaper at £41
hard drives - not much in it

I'm finding it hard to believe your setup is better? could you explain? surely putting two higher graphic cards in would not keep in being "budget"

Certainly I will explain, This CPU is actually more powerful than that 6300. I said future proof because the H97 board I gave you will support 5TH GENERATION Intel Cores, As well, you did not specify which speed your RAM was so I assumed 1600 mhz. As well, the motherboard AND the HDD are important, I gave you alot more Storage for possibly the same price, as well, a motherboard you have to make sure it is compatible and can actually handle a card. I assure you, this is the better list
