Hello everyone!

I am having real trouble with my new Windows 8 laptop. Every now and again my keyboard keys change into hot keys. This seems to happen across all of my applications - Firefox, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel... The works.

So N starts opening new tabs in Firefox / creates new messages in Outlook, R starts run etc. This sticky keys issue appears to only affect one programme at a time. So if I have an issue with Outlook, I can usually still type properly in Word. Once I close down and re-start Outlook the issue seems to go away for a time.

I have disabled Sticky Keys through the control panel. I have also unchecked all the tick boxes in Sticky Keys options menu. I have also turned off filter keys.

Can you please help?

Solution
Which keyboard or laptop do you have?
Sounds more like a sticky or accidental press of the Windows key to me. try disabling that
