Hello, All help is appreciated. I have a Hp pavilion a1630n. with a, A8M2N-LA motherboard, AMD Athlon 64x2-4600+ pcu, and Nvidia GeForce 6150LE intergrated graffix. I lost all video and power to my keyboard and mouse and my screen is black. My screen just has a screensaver that says, check signal cable. Can I add a video card, Will it let me in the Bios or windows or will it still boot from the non working video? Someone said an add on card will overide the intergrated video, but i'm not sure.? Or should i just change the motherboard and pcu.? Also, wich is the better processor, AMD Athlon 64x2-4600+ or a intel pentium D 3.2 dual core??

Thanks, Rick..

Thanks for your input. I am looking at replacing the mother board with a P5LP-LE with intel graffix and an 3.2 pentium d dual core psu. Will I lose all my data on my HD when I swap mobo's or is there a way to save it? I just lost all my data a couple months ago when my HD crashed. I have recovery cd's from HP wich did not work. But, my brother has the same mobo in his HP and said they will work with that mobo. Any suggestions ?

Thanks in advance for any help..Rick..

Yes, when u change Motherboards you will lose data because more than likely you will end up installing windows again...since your cant uninstall all of your chipset drivers and hardware

i would get a flash drive or a external hard drive(depends on how much u want to save from your computer) to save your programs u want

hope this helps
