Hi People!

I have gotten help here before many times by reading other questions.

I cant seem to find any answer to my question though.

So, i need a heatsink for my nvme ssd. It is getting very hot 80+ degrees.

but my motherboard already has something underneath the ssd and i cant seem to fit a heatsink with both sides.

So im wondering if i can use only the top heatsink and use electrical tape around it to keep the heatsink in place?

See pictures.

THANK YOU.

THANK YOU.
Electrical tape will dry up and detach in short order, no good at all.
Wonder what is it under something underneath the ssd, can you take picture without heat sink that's part of your MB ?

Okey thanks for answering!

Im sorry for my explanation.

You see the metallic part where it says "MSI"?

That leaves no room for someting to be attached under the m.2 ssd drive.

So when i tried to install the ssd with the heatsink on both sides it will break.

In your picture, grey metal thing with MSI on it is a heat sink for M.2 socket SSD which has to be removed to install disk. Your SSD should fit with it's cooler or you can remove SSD cooler and use one you remove to install ssd.

Wow maybe i am very stupid and i am sorry for this.

But are you telling me i can remove it?

i have done alot of research and cannot find anything about removing it.

I have no problem installing the ssd with it still there?

Don't even try to install SSD with it in place, you can short it out, it's metal. I looked at MB manual and there's no explanation of how to remove it. Those 2 white circles might have something to do with it. Maybe from behind of MB ?
One thing is certain, it has to come off !!!

Oh, i understand but cant seem to find any screws on the back either..

That heatsink on motherboard (with MSI written on it) is not to be removed.
It is necessary for chipset cooling.

Your M.2 heatsink is not compatible with this motherboard (not front side at least).
You might be able to install it on secont M.2 slot - at back side of the motherboard, if pc case has cutout in that area (but probably it doesn't have that).

Hi! Thank you very much for your help.

Though, i have now done my own version of this.

I have used those zip-ties and the two heatsink plates.

Nothing underneath.

THIS is what it looks like right now. https://ibb.co/LtPqHC2
