Is it possible to make a router an Ethernet switch without having to actually plug an Ethernet cord into it (aside from the ones going to the devices). I want to move my computer to a different room that has no Ethernet ports but I still want to have and Ethernet connection on it, would I be able to make a second router a switch?

I don't recommend WIFI unless it is a last resort for any non-portable devices.... I would go powerline. But I would recommend ordering the newest devices rather than the older AV500. You might get 40Mbit with that type. The newer AV2 MIMO will get 100Mbit in almost all situations.

That is exactly what I'd like to do

I don't really want to order online, what would you say would work better? The Linksys ac1200 wireless booster or the Powerline AV 500 starter kit (DHP-309AV)?
