Well i am not master twicker and not big OC fan but i would like to squeeze a bit by the fact that an older and I5 work at 3.8ghz base and the skylake at 3.5hz. and yeah the mobo look pretty expensive.

You should not look at MHz/GHz as the only measure of performance. New chips are going to be able to do more instructions per every clock tick than their predecessors. It is better to look at CPU benchmarks to compare. Try this..

It will compare all aspects. As for the price of motherboards there are many factors. Some mother boards have feature that cater to overclockers and are more expensive. Some have cheaper parts such as capacitors which shorten the life expectancy. And some just look cooler for the glass side case if you are into showing your computer off. You have to ask yourself some questions when buying:

- How long do I want to keep this system before my next upgrade?
- Will I be overclocking?
- What peripherals will I be upgrading to like an M.2 harddrive?
- What RAM am I going to use? Is it going to be super fast like 3000Mhz or above?
- Am I going to use multiple graphics cards in SLI or Crossfire?

Not all boards are going to support these features and you will have to decide on if the sacrifice is worth it.

How about ROG VIII Hero? I bought VII Hero before and satisfied with it and compared and saw the hero chiper and better then the SABERTOOTH Z170 MARK 1

Opps yep I was thinking Gene. Sorry. The ROG I had was a Gene.
