help me about modded xeon 771 to 775

everyone i have bought a powerful cpu named e5462
i tried to run that on g41 but it just run at 2.5 ghz max
and now am going to get a g31
that will work right ?

The socket needs modding to fit (or the CPU itself).
There is an electrical adapter tape.
The chipset needs to support it.
And the BIOS microcode may need modding.
