How much is their failure rate coz they dont have a good service here So it'd be good if they remain faultless. What do you think about the samsung 763 dfx and the 753s. are LG monitors any good. i'm also eyeing the viewsonic
thanx

To be honest, the first FE791SB I got seemed to have a convergence error, but I have a feeling now that could have been fixed in that it was a fault in the input signal........
I've seen those samsungs, just don't remember them too well so I won't comment. As for the viewsonic- from an earlier discussion I had with GoSharks, it appears the P75F is the same as the Fe791sb.

Are all 17" screens flat? Coz i just went to see the samsung stuff. The 753s seems to be a wee bit curved it was like and oversized 15" screen And the 763dfx(dynaflat X) was pretty flat

I just bought a Samsung 763MB at the end of January and I'm pretty happy with it. It supports 1280x1024 @65Hz, (recommends 1024x768 @85Hz refresh, I'm running mine @ 1152x864 w/ 75Hz refresh) and has .20mm horizontal dot pitch (not sure what the vertical is). The three brightness modes are kinda nice. I believe it was in your price range, although when I bought one there was also a rebate (I forget how much, but the check should be coming soon).

The FE791SB supports 1280x1024 @ 89Hz, 1024x768 @ 116, and 1600x1200 @ 76Hz. Also has the super bright modes and is totally flat. Not all 17" are total flat.
