It's like a proffesional hit.

Help me school this JackA$$!

Hmm, what's thegoing rate?

GW, what does WS pay you!?!

coylter, believe me if you give him enough rope he'll hang himself.

IF you want a good resource go to Digit-life, their reviews should give you enough benchmark wise and screenie wise to put forward a valid arugment on most anything. Just don't expect miracles, I'm still trying to piece together a defence for the Volari DUO, and I'm still unable to finish the first sentence.

As for Halo you could always point him to a few other sources like Xbit's roundup. The FX5900nu does well at low res, but even the FX5950 loses ground starting at 1280x1024, and then regains some at 16x12. So there may not be a strong enough case to do much of anything.

Remember it also depends on the apps as to the top-wiener-dog of them all.

Good Luck. Now I've got something to watch with mild interest next week.

Does NV3x cards even do PS2.0 effects in HALO? Cause i thought NV had "optimized" HALO as well for the NV3x cards.

This link from the vga charts 3 at toms hardware compares AA/AF scores. Especially looking at the 4X/8X scores where a plain jane R9700 non-pro is quicker than anything NV had to offer, and has better AA quality to boot. Why buy a high end video card that is useless for AA/AF.

As someone who owned a 5900nu for a brief while, I sure am fully agreeing the R9800np or pro are superior to it. Matter of fact, I returned it within a couple weeks because I'd rather game on the R9500pro that I had been using. 5900U AA/AF abilities left me far from being a happy customer, and in some reguards it was a downgrade. I had briefly owned a R9800NP before that, and despite cheapo infinion memory, that was a sweet card. It' couldn't run as a pro because of memory so I sold it and kept my eyes open for the pro.

Anyway, you should be able to find links from many sites so they can't pick on one review site as biased. Have fun. That site isn't working now so I can't read the trash they have been spewing at you. I can only imagine.

Well the only way I think it's possible for the 5900nu to beat the 9800pro without aa/af is to flash to 5950U's bios, then overclock the crap out of it. But then again the 9800pro overclocked can be a b*tch with its 8 pipelines, FX5900 even with 5950U's bios has trouble. I currently own a FX5900 with 5950U's bios clocked at 570mhz/1000mhz, true in Benchmarks i beat 9800pro, even the XT, but benchmarks honestly i think's bull$hit. In real DX9 games 9800pro still screws me, but not by much. It seems like in Far Cry the 9800pro can handle higher quality, while mine card can handle higher res.
