Hey guys,

I'm super new to this sort of thing and I was wondering could I get a bit of help from the community here.

I want to build a "Console Killer" as stated in the title but I don't even know where to begin. I know the case I want which is the Node 202 by fractal design but I'm so new to this I don't know what kind of power supply I will need.

What I do know: I want to be able to play any new AAA titles with decent FPS (45-60) while running a dual monitor setup. Also I want to have a SSD that will have windows to boot up fast but another hard drive with enough space to hoard all the games I want so around 2TB if possible and maybe an external hard drive to put unnecessary big files on and etc.

My Budget is around €1000 Euro, Which is roughly $1200 USD at the moment and £780 Pound, If needs be I can go up another 200 euro but I need all the parts to be from Europe as not many ship from america for decent pricing.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section or just an over all stupid question but whoever can give me a hand in reference to this it would be much appreciated!

Hello G-unit,

Thank you for the speedy response! Any sites based in the United Kingdom should suffice just fine, the likes of Amazon and cheaper counterparts are perfect as I'm currently living in Ireland so it's going to be expensive regardless.

Either of those would annihilate consoles in resolutions, settings & FPS.

You can scale it back a bit too.......with a decent budget, consoles aren't really too difficult to beat. At their price point though, consoles do what they do very well.

I would personally go the Z170 route if you can afford it which can be easily done on £1000 and maybe even £800 but that might be stretching it. Here's what I would suggest:

I was assuming the OP needed an OS too, but if not, should be able to squeeze a 390x under 900GBP

Hello Barty,

Thank you so much for your input and yes these are exactly the sort of builds I would be looking for and yeah budget shouldn't matter if it's a little over plus the pound is constantly fluctuating against the euro. Really appreciate all the input!

Hello G-Unit,

Awesome build and I really appreciate all the input but I would be looking to purchase an OS but if not I'll go with this build as it it just amazing.. I work in an office and I could always ask one of the guys for a copy of windows 7 or something and just get the free upgrade along with it! but we can see and again thanks for all the help!

I went with an i7, non overclock, setup.
