Corsair Hydro Series H60

I already bought those 3, i just need you guys to help me build a pc, using an Intel Pentium G4560. Recommend me other parts. So feel free to put the recommended things you've got. Thank you.

Solution
Hopefully this includes all the components you need. If the $700 included the parts you have listed as ones you already have, there'll have to be some heavy changes here, so make sure you clarify on that:

well you did some boo boo's as you already wasted money on a couple of things you dont need

why a h60? and a hybrid drive?

can you return them?

Wow. The H60, if you are on a budget, it's ok but kind of against the idea of budget lol. On a strict budget, I don't recommend much looking at intel. You can get a Pentium G4650 that's a dual core with hyperthreading. They used to be good value, but they recently jacked the prices to 75 or so it seems from the 55-60 they used to cost. Those perform about the same as the i3, so not really a reason to go upward. As far as upgrades, intel is releasing Coffee Lake next year, and it looks like those will need new motherboards. So honestly I'd hold off on intel.

That said, on a budget, where I would want to be is this.

Ryzen 1200-$110

ASRock AB350 board(this is the no frills no nonsense version but should allow some overclocking)-$59.99

8gb ddr4 3000 ram(2x4gb sticks---check the qvl on the board to be sure it's compatible)-$75.99

Power supply-EVGA 450B(may want to upgrade later, but on a budget, it's hard to argue with)-$34.99

Case-Rosewill Nautilus-$29.99

That case actually looks nice for 30 bucks.

If my math is right, about 310.96. If you want an optical drive, count on about 15 to 20 dollars tops. Wouldn't normally recommend an H60 in a budget build, but you know what, run it and overclock the 1200. Maybe opt for a board with more features, but gives an idea what you can do. Don't forget a copy of Windows 10, add another 100 or so for that.

But if you got that 1200, and could put it to 3.7 or 3.8ghz, I'm guessing with a 1050 ti, on a budget, you'd have a nasty little machine that you could later drop a 6 or 8 core into, maybe later upgrade power supply and put a better card in and roll. But for 1080p, that card you've got is fine.

Question from Winterandsnow : "Building a good PC"

Mention a budget and also a very good reason for not wanting an AMD processor, please. Right now, not a lot of Intel processors are sensible choices, barring a few. Also mention what monitor you have(refresh rate and resolution).

Please stop creating new threads, please don't PM mods asking for advice on builds, we'll work with you in the thread if needed.

The problem with the build you sent me is that you've spent $65 on a cooler for an i3-7100 (which has a cooler), that $65, could have given you an i5, or a better GPU, instead it gives you no benefit.

$700. I guess you can recommend me an AMD processor. Samsung S22F355FHE would be the monitor (1920 x 1080). Thank you.

That was my bad.

This should keep you on top of games for a long time, at least 5 years, with that 8-core processor. Ryzen is a new and upcoming platform, and AMD has committed to the AM4 platform at least till 2020. Considering their previous history, they will probably live up to this. What this means is if you find the performance of the CPU dissatisfactory down the line, you can upgrade to newer Zen architectures.

Solution

That didn't really work with AM3/AM3+(95W)/AM3+(125W)/AM3+(<125W), no one does a good job of keeping sockets consistent.

Of course at some level it depends on the motherboard manufacturer to pay a bios update. I ran an athlon 2 x4 quad on an am2 board for a while.

One problem in the time you are talking about though was all the cheap am3 boards that had a hard time handling 8 core cpus due to the heat output of those.

Yes, but they were all called AM3+. So as far as many are concerned they are 1 socket, I claim that they are really 3 sockets with one-way compatibility.

Yeah, if you had a better board they should work, and I see where you are coming from. But again, a lot of those cheaper boards that only had 4+1 power phases didn't help matters because people would drop in a couple, then if they tried something dumb looked trying to overclock an 8 core on a basic board... Yeah not good ideas. May be the reason overclocking is locked on a320 boards come to think of it lol.

Meh. It's your money, but Intel will be releasing new CPUs before long, which may require new boards. Their new i3 is supposed to be quad core, the i5 will be 6 core.

For your budget I think you will be happier with the ryzen system for longer. Look at the build shektron showed you. That system would be closer to having an i7 7700k. Plus you would be able to overclock.

The 7500 will game a little, but that 1700 will take it to the woodshed. Especially when you start multitasking, the 1700 will have a HUGE advantage. In multitasking and workstation tasks, it actually beats the i7 7700k. The i7 is better at gaming, but the 1700 is within 10% of it or so.

It's your money, just making suggestions. I've got a ryzen 1600 6 core and am happy with it so far.
