Can someone please help me decide what GPU to buy? The budget is about 300 euros. (I live in Latvia). I'm thinking about the 960, but maybe there are some others that are good?
I kind of favor the nvidia side over AMD. Also, what is even good about AMD GPUS?
My system, if anyone is wondering:
Motherboard: Gigabyte H87N-WIFI
i3 4130
integrated graphics
350W power supply (going to be upgraded to a ~500W one)
Case: Bitfenix Prodigy M

For me the one i am using is the GTX 970 Strix by ASUS. It is a very good one and stayed at temperatures of about 75°C(If my memory does not fail me) when i run Far Cry 4 on ultra.

As I wrote in the beginning of the thread, my budget is 300 euros
The 970 costs 360 euros, which is way too expensive for me. Note that I am 14 and I'm preparing something like a wishlist for my present/s
so the 960 would be a pretty good sweet spot.
The problem is that there have been many comments on videos about the 960 as the R9 280 etc. are better because of the wider(?) memory bus and more vram.

What is the FPS when you were playing it? I'm looking to play Shadow of Mordor on medium settings, at 720p or 1080p, higher, if I get about 50 to 60 fps

I have a monitor that goes up to 60FPS and it is a full solid 60FPS on ultra(that is if my memory does not fail me again)

Yeah, they are very close, but the 760 is only sold in sketchy shops here in Latvia. I'm probably going to go for the 960, since it's probably going to consume less power due to the Maxwell architecture.
Sorry if I make any mistakes, English in not my mother tongue.

Is that like your monitor is 60Hz? I don't know much about monitors, heh. 😀
And also, what processor do you have? Is the game installed on a SSD?
I think those things change the fps at least in some way, I think.

I would say if you can wait and save up a bit more I would definitely go for a gtx760,but...if you are on a real strict budget then you might check out the Asus Strix DCU2 OC GTX960 it has a real good price to performance ratio and pretty cool running and quite.it runs about 200 us dollars. How that converts to euros I don't know, but I'll bet it's probably in your budget range.Hope that helps...raykat

Can you explain why the hell are many complaining about it? It might be the price of 200 $ ?
It's not bad - it has all the new technology that the 970 and the 980 have as well the Maxwell architcture.
Maybe it's because of the price tag? I agree it is a bit high, but it's a pretty good 1080p gaming card,

I already had checked it out, but thanks for the suggestion! I was deciding between the G1 gaming edition from Gigabyte, or the Strix from Asus,
Which one do you think would be good for a mild overclock and still run quietly?

Tough call.I use a Gigabyte gtx760 and love it.It's mildly overclocked out of the box,but Asus is no slouch.I think you would be happy which ever way you go.Maybe just flip a coin.lol1Good luck.

I checked, the 760 isn't much less cheaper than the 960 in my country. There are 4GB variants though :|.
I'll still probably buy the 960 since it's available in more shops rather than one internet store which doesn't even have it in stock 🙁.
Thanks for the suggestions though :)!

No problem! Glad to be of help.
