Help me choose a graphic card; I'm stupid!

Hi! I wouldn't say I'm a beginner, by a long shot, I understand most every aspect of the interworkings of a modern Turing machine though the one thing that has always vexed me is graphics cards. So, I need your help. This is the PC I will likely be buying as a base to upgrade from:

What kind of graphics card would you recommend I upgrade this with, seeing it ships with integrated graphics(gross). Also, someone in the review section warned that I should purchase a "half-height card." He didn't say why, and quite frankly he could be full of it, but seeing as I have the knowledge of an infant in this subject, I figured it would be worth mentioning.

That machine is worth circa $50, the specs are pre windows 7 (so its bogus add on), its small form factor power supply is too low for a gaming card, the form factor is wrong for a 'midrange' card to fit, or a reasonable price new power supply, in fact its just 'a wrong un' .
And if you dont like that info I wont say up yours, just buy it.
Come back with it and you will be the subject of jest.

Yeah, I figured as much; case is ugly as hell, anyway.

CPU is ancient junk by the way.

Do you have any suggestions? I can put the thing together if I have all the pieces; it's just that there are so many specifics when it comes to components, it's really just over my head.

well heres my pc that i recently built,http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kyrim/saved/TCwQzy and if you have no experience building then you can easily watch tutorials, or ill even try to help you out, and if you dont have a DVD drive you can buy one for around 17$

youd have to have a version of windows to be able to get windows for free

and also, that build dont have a Harddrive, i forgot, i just used one from my old computer it worked just fine, but if you need a harddrive and a DVD drive, then ill add on in on the list and resend it to you.

yeah, I noticed no harddrive and added an ss drive. I forgot I needed windows to install it for free, silly me.
