Ive been wanting to try a black/white colour schema, and maybe even making it customisable in the future, so a full RGB LED mobo would be absolutely fantastic (Yes ive looked at the ASUS ROG Rampage VIII Formula, but the price tag, jeesh)
Please keep in mind that I live in Australia so prices are suuuper hiked, and Amazon and Newegg dont ship here most of the time (I personally prefer retailers like PCCG, CPL and MSY)
I am a student currently in tertiary education, but this will be my present to myself for graduating

This will be used as a streaming/video rendering/video encoding/gaming machine (mostly streaming and gaming at the same time :3)

So yeah, go for your life edit the build as you would like, please leave me suggestions if you do why you chose it and, yeah, have fun :)

Ps. Keep it on a friendly budget if you can. Absolute max is ~3.5-4K AUD :))

Solution

Yes it is...
Socket pinout for i7 6700K is LGA 1151 so Rampage is no go which is LGA 2011 or Socket 1366 for RAMPAGE III FORMULA.

You might want to consider Asus Maximus VIII Ranger at $275 from UMART.
Or Asus ROG Maximus VIII Extreme. My favorite at $699.
I get all my kit from UMART as they are the most competitive in most things.
ASUS are the best IMO. Not the best support but ROG have an excellent support Forum.

You have an excellent build going Simplicity12. Don't spoil it with a cheap MB.
You may also wish to consider a Samsung SSD 500GB EVO at $219 from UMART.
An excellent SSD and twice the storage of the Intel and cheaper.

Yeah I've heard some great things about boot times via this SSD, and since its going to be mounted in the front of the case I would like it to be pretty too (I know, aesthetics, gosh)

As for the CPU I know its LGA1155, but i am leaving options open if somebody thinks an x99 chipset board and broadwell-e (i think) would be a better choice for the pricepoint then Ill consider that (plus x99 has alot of sexy mobos)
I did mean to write the Maximus extreme but its so expensive
Do you know if its either worth it, or something that is similar but cheaper
Thanks for your reply :)

Its really a personal choice as to your MB requirement Simplicity12.

The Maximus VIII E Z170 MB is for those who are OCers and make use of the OC Panel II.
It is equipped with MicroFine Alloy Chokes and lots of other goodies.
If your not into serious OCing then, Yes it is an expensive board.

If your budget conscious then you may want to consider GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X. Now it is a much cheaper Gaming MB with decent reviews for what it has to offer.

There are so many choices and you will probably receive many recommendations. Good Luck with whatever you choose.

I was kind of thinking about the ASUS Z170-AR, It's quite a nice sexy board that fits my colour schema, does it do well with overclocking?

Yes it is excellent for OCing with the right cooling, PSU
Tested configuration by ASUS:
Intel LGA1151 i7 6700K | Z170-AR | DDR4 G.Skill 3400C16 | ENERMAX 1050W | Corsair H100i | Intel SSD 80G| Win 8.1
OK for W10 too, The PSU is overkill and would be OK with 750W-850W gold certified PSU.
My advice for OCing, don't use AISuite but get to know your Bios and only OC from the BIOS.

Ahhh okay that makes sense,
Yeah Ive got an 750 gold in my build, powering my hungry EVGA 1080 FTW :), I've never overclocked before so ill try it on my current build and see how I go :),
With cooling, my H100i V2 would be fine I assume?
Sorry for all the stupid questions I just want to make sure that I get the right components

No such a thing as a stupid question Simplicity12. We all started in your position and its the only way to learn.
Get to know your EUFI Bios. It is extremely comprehensive and a little daunting at first but help here is always available.
You have a good build going and yes the H100i will be fine. :)
