Hello,

I'm going to get this motherboard:

http://www.dabs.com/products/gigabyte-z97x-gaming-3-s1150-intel-z97-4xddr3-6xusb3-0-8xusb2-0-atx-9FWK.html

Could somebody please help me with getting a power supply for it.
I notices this in the description:
Power Connectors24-pin main power connector, 8-pin ATX12V connector
if that is any help atall.

Im going to get:

  • Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz LGA1150 Quad-Core CPU
    Use onboard graphics card
    3 hard drives in there
    no dvd drive
Cooler Master Seidon 120V VER.2 Liquid CPU Cooler
Please give your opinions whether you think its a good spec or how you would change it.

Thanks for your time,

Kyle.

I think "good spec" would depend on your use for it. You certainly don't need a lot of power with that setup, so a lower-end PSU would be fine. But I notice the mobo is for gaming? Are you doing intense gaming? If so, you would want a good graphics card, which could affect what PSU you should get...

I choose a gaming motherboard because I used to game a lot but dont have the time for it at the moment. I want that option to be open for the future for when I have the time.
For the meantime I would be using it for:

designing graphics Photoshop etc
Editing Videos
Making Programs (Visual Studio 2012)
Creating Websites (Web Creator 6)

Also I'm not fussed with a decent graphics card at this moment in time.

Well, you don't really need a graphics card, but it could help a bit. Just make sure you a decent amount of RAM for Photoshop and you should be good. I would say you could pick up a 450 watt and be fine. But if you want the option to game later, at least a 650 watt. Either way, they should be fairly cheap for a decent PSU. If you want the least amount, find out the maximum wattage all parts can take under load and then add 100w just to be safe.

Yeah for the RAM I'm getting 2x4GB 1600 Mhz
I can always upgrade later on down the line, that is no problem.
Anyway thanks for the answer. Much appreciated.
