I have an 1998 OJ500 that I'm going to keep for faxing. (The thing refuses
to break!) But, I need a reliable, economical paper-feed (maybe flatbed for
scanning too) color inkjet-type printer that will actually install/work with
XP Pro for my home network. Installation ease and networking are a priority.
Mainly light document printing...500-1000 per year. Thanks all.

If you go with a multi-function, one sticking point may be network
printing. I have a Canon multipass L6000, and the official word from
Canon is to forget about network printing (also forget about updated
drivers for windowsXP), so I would avoid Canon on the driver support issue.

I use an HP 21<something> which works ok as a shared printer, but I
haven't gotten scan to work shared. I haven't tried all that hard either
though. Draft text printing is fast and good enough for anything I am
not sending out.
