Hi all. I am wondering if someone can help me choose a used laptop. It needs to be able to play multiple video streams at once. Like 7 to 10.

Will it need a dedicated graphics card for this?

I am looking at one , a rog laptop that is "a bit noisy" but its:

Specs:
Gtx 1060 6gb
I7 6700HQ
16gb of ram
128gb ssd
1080p screen

For 325 CAD$

Or can I get away with using something like: a dell latitude:

Intel 8th Gen i5 8350u (3.6Ghz)
16GB ram
256gb nvme SSD
14" 1080p IPS display
Windows 11 Pro

For 250 CAD$

Thanks for any advice!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

A problem I see with the Asus laptop you've listed above is that it lacks Windows 11 support. Windows 10 will be a decade old towards the end of this year, so you'll be without Windows 10 support when that happens.

It needs to be able to play multiple video streams at once. Like 7 to 10.
Please elaborate this point. Include all app's you wish to tax the laptop with.

Ty!

This will be used as a part of an art installation my son is a part of. The laptop will be connected to a projector and many instances of a lightweight video player will be used. Vids are all 720p or less. Possibly a web browser may be on in the background.
