At first I wanted to go with Samsung EVO 250GB but then I started looking prices and some of the other brands with good read/write speeds (~500/500) and 250GB are much cheaper :? I'm confused now, the Samsung is 133 euros, while other brands are ~100 euros, brands like:
- ADATA
- PNY
- SanDisk
- OCZ
- Patriot
- Kingston

Also why is Crucial MX100 often recommended if it has read/write 550/330MB/s? Any thoughts appreciated.

For that price difference, the Crucial, hands down.
Don't remove OCZ from consideration, OCZ is owned by Toshiba now and their drives are much better than they used to be.

That being said, don't forget to take the SSD manufacturer's software into account. In my opinion, Samsung's Magician software is unbeatable for monitoring the health and getting the best performance out of their SSDs.

I prefer the Samsung Pro drives, but their EVO drives are a great alternative for the cost conscious.

Yes, I have read about that software, but Crucial MX100 is around 40 euros cheaper than the Samsung EVO! I will have to decide if I want fancy software or 40 euros saved.
