So far, I have:

i720 CPU
EVGA 132-CK-NF79-A1 Motherboard

Next, I want to get some great memory for the board. Probably 6 GB, which is crazy to say since when building my last computer, 2GB was "a lot". In addition if you can confirm that when using 6 GB, I will have to use Vista? I have been a diehard for XP but from what I understand, I have to upgrade to use this much memory. Is Vista what most people run now?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

The board you listed is socket 775, not core i7. You can use either 2 or 4 sticks of ddr3 with that board. If you change boards to core i7, superbiz has 3 x 2gb of supertalent ddr3 d3-1600 for $94.13, which is the best deal I've seen for 6 gigs.

I quoted the wrong board. I am going with the only board that EVGA is currently making for the i7. Supertalent? Sorry, but i have never heard of them. Performance to me is way more important then price. Any other suggestions?
