In a separate thread i discussed with a few people for a RIG I'm getting soon, i was confused for a CPU there, now i have decided on it, but now a bit confused in MoBo choice.

CPU : FX 6300
GPU : R7 260X OC
RAM : 4 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 mhz
PSU : Corsair VS550
What mobo should i opt for?
please try to keep the price under 5k INR ($90)
and i'll prefer it from amazon as im having 5% discount on any electronics, but will take from flikart etc if price is better.
Thanks and Regards,
Sparkyy

You mean you're not sure if you want to buy an ATX or a Micro-ATX case or you're not sure about the format of your case?

To make it simple, an ATX case using has 7 slots in the back while a Micro-ATX has 4. Check the back picture of the cases to understand the difference. Problem is there are no really good Micro-ATX motherboards for the FX-6300 and an ATX case usually provides slightly better cooling.

Micro-ATX: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0AJ28G5930

If you already have the case, then post a picture or its make and model number.

my case really has 7 or so points in the back where i can insert wires, so i believe its ATX mid tower not the micro one.
problem is i have an iball case and i really dont know how can i know its model number etc, even my current ram is iball manufactured which isnt performing well.
if u'd suggest me buying a new case then i hope it has inbuilt psu to handle my decided rig because im really on tight budget.
thanks for quick reply, i'll try to search for my case's model number tho.

EDIT i think they have permanently discontinued the model of case i have, but its ATF form 100% sure

The name/model number has to be printed somewhere. We need to know what case and PSU you have before suggesting a motherboard. Is your PSU powerful enough for the selected CPU and GPU? Is the case standard ATX with the usual front panel connectors for Power, Reset, LEDs, etc.?

umm bro i cant find the model number on my case, maybe u'll be able to guess what size it is if i tell u my current mobo, its MSI MS 7788.
and yes its front has power and reset buttons , one cd drive, aew slots below it where i can install more drives,
its got 3 usb connections 2 on side 1 on front and 4 other connections for diff. stuff at the front, hope tihs helps.

Is this the motherboard that you have? http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H61MP31_G3.html#hero-overview This is a Micro-ATX motherboard and if it fills the case, then it's a Micro-ATX case. Use CPU-Z to double-check exactly what motherboard and CPU you have. If your case really is Micro-ATX, then your motherboard choice with an AMD CPU is rather limited. I still believe that your choice of an AMD CPU would be much better if you chose an ATX motherboard like the Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P and an ATX case. I'm not going to suggest a Micro-ATX motherboard because there are none with a 970 or 990 chipset.

umm no its not p31 its p20
cpu z tells its H61M-P20 (G3)(MS 7788)
