No beating around the bush; look at what my options have ultimately come down to:

https://www.asus.com/monitors/vx24ah/

The first one is 1080p, 3D, 1ms, 144Hz
The second one is 1440p, 5ms, 76Hz

The advantages with the VX24AH (as far as I can see) is the vastly more delicate, elegant design and almost 1.8x higher pixel density.

The VG248QE, on the other hand, is an out-and-out gaming monitor with 5x faster response time, double refresh rate, 3D (IF you see it as an advantage) and more rugged design.

I have a GTX 980 Ti to fire this monitor, and I seriously am at a loss about which one is the better pick. The 1080p one offers more attractive options and such longevity due to its lower pixel density, but the 1440p one should clearly provide more crisp images with such outstanding frameless design.

WTF should I do???

Media display priority would be the vx24ah, but if you like gaming, especially twitch gaming (call of duty and games that require response time), then the vg248qe would be best. 1440p is great but most things dont support it like youtube videos and video games so its nice but isnt going to be for major features.
