Hi all!
Last summer i built this rig,
Cpu : i5 2400 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80623i52400
Mobo : Gigabyte B75M-D3H http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gab75md3h
Gpu : hd 6670 DDR3 1gb http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr667d31gi
Ram : Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-memory-khx1600c9d3p1k28g
Psu : Thermaltake 450w litepower http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/730
Monitor : LG IPS226V-PN 21.5" Monitor http://pcpartpicker.com/part/lg-monitor-ips226vpn
plus, an hhd 750gb WD, a Sony Dvdrw and a midi budget case (Thermaltake V2 Black) to fit all the above in.
The facts :
1) I was in a 800 Euro budget. I know overclocking is cool, lots of hours of fun, but drives you to more expensive cpu, mobo, psu, case + cooling solutions.
2)Had in mind to upgrade my gpu when i could afford it.
3)Next gen cpu's are in the corner.
4)No intetion of multi monitor setup or even buy a better monitor for a couple of years.
5)I play some games, but i'm not a hardcore gamer though.
All the above said, i have 2 upgrade paths (or if anyone could suggest a diff one, pls do) to follow.
Which is the right one? (Money wise, performance/bottlenecking wise, fun wise)
1) upgrade my gpu to gtx 660 (i'm confident that my psu can run it), and in a year or so (again when my pocket allows it)
upgrade everything.
Estimated cost : 200/250 Euros now + 1000+/- in a year
2) upgrade my gpu to gtx 670/hd 7950, buy a better case and a decent 600/650w psu and next year upgrade my cpu/mobo.
Estimated cost : 550/600 Euros now + 400+/- in a year
So? What you would do?
Pls give me some arguments, some facts, any thoughts if you can.
Sorry for my bad English, not my native language.
TY for reading. 😀
