Help me choose which monitor to get

Hi All,

or this http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-XL2720Z-27-inch-Performance-Monitor/dp/B00GWFNMJS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1427260436&sr=8-2&keywords=benq+xl2730z

Which one would you guys recommend? It is going to be mainly used for gaming or are there other monitors that are better than these ones? I want 27" or 28" that does not exceed $450 mark.

And would I be able to use the 144hz with the gtx 780 without any problems?

Solely based of brands, I would go with BenQ, my monitor is also a 22". Also, working in IT, I've known that AOC produces cheap products that kinda just barely get the job done.

When you look at the specs though, the AOC monitor has a much more complex contrast ratio of 50M:1 where as the BenQ is just 12M:1. Both monitors have 1ms response time & 144Hz refresh rate.

When it comes down to it though, you'd shell out $130 more for the BenQ one which seems stupid to me. As much as I hate AOC, I would buy it after doing that research.

Awesome thanks for the info! Lets say if i buy the benq would you recommend a different monitor at that price that is good for gaming? Pheraps a 1440p monitor?

Granted, its a 4ms response time, but if you're not at some godly competitive level of gaming, you won't notice a huge difference. I would only suggest a gaming monitor if you're in the pro scene to be completely honest. Kind of just a marketing scheme by reducing the refresh rate by that little. As for 1440p monitors, no idea

Edit: the contrast ratio on this is 20M:1 compared to the previous 12M;1 you wanted. You can decide for yourself, do you want a barely noticeable refresh rate or more vivid colours

over the ones i showed? But i read that 4ks only do 30hz but if i lets say run a game on a lower resolution on that 4k monitor will i get 60hz at least?
