Hello all! I am building my first ever gaming pc and I have one qeustion! Could these GPU's run bf4 on ultra 1080p 60+ fps?
AMD radeon hd7990 or GTX 780?
Or should I crossfire or Sli two cards?
(My CPU is AMD FX6300, If it won't run I will buy i5 so)
Thanks!

Really? You think I should work with GTX 780? But the AMD RADEON HD beats GTX in Crysis 3 and all games!

7990 crossfire drivers and heat along with the coil whine is horrible..

OP i would go for the 780 honestly and sli in the future..Ive been running sli for a month now no issues with heat, micro stutter of frame latency issues of that sort and its solid so far.

True but im not going to recommend a card that has driver issues with crossfire etc dont matter how fast it is crossfire is horrible so i would not recommend the 7990.

Given that you have the budget for a HD7990 I'd say you should look to adding the 290x and 290 to your list if you haven't already.

If Battlefield 4 is all you're looking to do I'd scrap the HD7990, the driver annoyances, extra heat and power consumption are too much of an issue.
Similarly, unless you're comfortable with waiting for the 290x and 290 to get custom coolers or installing one yourself they aren't really that viable an option next to the 780. (Although it is hard to look past the 290's bargain pricing).

The 780 handles BF easy and given a good overclock competes nicely with the 290x and 290 (but ships with a customer cooler), I'd recommend it if the AMD alternatives aren't appropriate for you. Keep in mind that AMD are demoing Mantle in a couple of days and that could shake things up a little bit.

So you think It would run BF4? Ultra 1080p with 60+ fps? Ok! But why should I wait for the 290X? Yes I need to make up some money but Custom coolers? I think they are really annoying to install! So you guys all think I should go with the GTX 780? I can do that but the AMD RADEON HD7990 Is so cheap in the performance..... I really don't know yet! But which one can I game longer with? Cuz im searching for a card that I can use 3 - 4 years and crossfire or Sli it for the Next-Next-gen games :na:

Yep you'll be able to get 60fps at 1080 using just one 290/290x, see here (theres no actual 1080p benchmark BUT 1920x1200 is similar, albeit slightly more intensive):

Yeah if you can't wait on custom coolers the GTX780 is a good choice still, most people dont realise that it still performs just as well as the 290x when it gets an average OC:

I'd personally go with the 780, if it can give you the performance and the right price single GPU solutions are always better. Alot of the 7990 benchmarks were before FCAT and frame variance so even though in raw terms the numbers are great, the actual gameplay experience is often inferior to a single card (AMD are working on a solution but its still far from a single cards gameplay experience).

Not to mention that SLI 780's will be far more efficient than CFX'ing a dual GPU.
