Hi, I just got my parts in this evening, assembled my machine and everything seems to be working. However, my case fan has the wrong connector I think. It is a four pin connector just like the power connect for the IDE drives. I want to plug it into my mobo but that is a little three pin connector. Can I get an adapter?

And in the mean time, can I just connect it to the one of the available connectors from the psu? It fits but I'm afraid it will be to much power???

Thank you! And thanks to everyone who helped me select my components last week!

yes, usually a 4pin connector is labeled fan and is speed is thermally controlled by the PSU

No it there is no connector labled facn. My psu does not thermally controll any fans other than its own. I was wondering if I could connect the fan to one of the standard four pin power cables such as those used to power IDE drives. If anyone knows what I'm talking about please chime in. Thanks.
