Help me decide on a laptop!

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a 13 to 14 inch laptop in the sub $1500 range. My only other requirement is that it has a discrete graphics card and hopefully a lot of storage space. I was recently looking at the Gigabyte P34G, but I get the feeling there is something better out there. Any ideas?

If you want a rather unorthodox choice, might I recommend the Alienware 13 with the Graphics Amplifier:

The laptop already comes with a competent GTX 960M graphics card, but the addition of the Amplifier allows you to greatly extend its performance by introducing a desktop graphics card solution. The only downside is that it runs on a dual-core i7 rather than a more powerful quad-core version. In practice, this does not translate to a significant gaming performance loss.

If you want a laptop that is already good as a standalone, the Razer Blade is the only 14" laptop that comes with the powerful GTX 970M graphics card, and it costs nearly $2000 at its cheapest. Other laptops with such a powerful GPU are in the 15-17" range. If you want a 960M-powered 13" laptop that comes with a more powerful quad-core i7 CPU, consider the Sager NP7339:

The Sager has a faster CPU than the Alienware and also comes with a GTX 960M, but you lose the opportunity to improve performance through the Graphics Amplifier.
