OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits

You can grab the R9 285 for just $10 more than that R9 280. I highly recommend it.

The R9 285 is the newest AMD card. It out performs the R9 280 and GTX 760.
The R9 285 also competes very well with the R9 280X while being significantly smaller, cooler and more power efficient than that card.

What is the brand and model (not just wattage) of your PSU? It may also limit what you can get. Otherwise that Gigabyte card with the WF3 cooler will be huge, but run quietly and stay cool.

Ok, that should be sufficient for any single card. Make sure it gets decent airflow through it; I'm not sure of the capacitor quality in that line.

Keep an eye on the R9 280X as well over the next few weeks. With the GTX 960 and AMD R9 380X coming out over the next couple of months the R9 280X is bound to get a price cut and some great sales bringing it into your price range.

Don't buy the 285 over the 280 mate.
Its only about 5% faster but the lack of vram makes it a worse card IMO.
A lot of new games cry out for vram now & that extra gig on the 280 far outweighs the tiny performance drop.

I've never seen a real world example where the R9 280 beats the 285, but granted they do have very similar performance. As long as you aren't stuck with a micro atx case the R9 280X noticeably outperforms both of them.

^ it doesn't beat it in terms of fps mate agreed.
But you're looking at virtually 2-3fps lower max.
The 280 has 3gb vram,the 285 only has 2gb.
You're stuck with medium or high textures on the latest games with the 285.
The 280 will let you run ultra textures & also use the optional hi-res texture packs on new games like shadow of mordor.
Its a tradeoff but I think its worth it.
