...when it was really a hardware token/dongle tied to the software sold with the device that made certain optimizations that had empirical performance improvements in the tomshardware review, similar to old tweaking programs like fastvid and powertweak. Probably from the late 90s. Indulge me in this bit of nostalgia?
 
Back in 90s, it was popular for many software packages to be bundled with a hardware dongle functioning as copyright protection.. But what was that magical app which gave boost of performance on that old system - no idea/ It could be even a RAM disk on ISA slot (been there...)
