Hi.

I would like to buy a curved display of 2k or 4k with maximum 14,56 inches height (37cm) including base that holds it because it's the maximum available gap my furniture allows. I tried to search but not success, I didn't found even 2k displays that had lower than 14,56 inches height (37cm) including base (I'm not sure if displays with height adjust could fit in that height).
I found this one: ANTGAMER M34G5Q but has 32 or 34 inches depending on the version (which has the same size as my tv so impossible at all any of that versions) and also Samsung Monitor U32R590C 32 inches too but both displays have height much higher of 14,56 inches (37cm) .

About panel or other specifications I don't have much idea about LED,LCF, IPS, OLED and all the terminology in market but I think Display port should be great to connect at max refresh rate and I would like to have great colours display.

Also I would like to be adviced in a new gpu I should buy to play baldur's gate 3 in a resolution of 2k or 4k (if you could find a display of the mentioned height). The one I'm using ATI AMD Radeon HD 7950 R9 280 I doubt it can play at those resolutions but I'm a hardware profane so I could be wrong.
My motherboard is GIGABYTE Z77X-D3H just in case I need another motherboard for not compatible pci express versions.

Sorry if I posted something wrong, thanks for all your help.

Regards

A 2080 Super costs as much as that entire list I put together...and arguably more than your RM550 PSU (albeit a good unit) can handle also.

Unless you can find an i7-3770 (which can be OC'd to 4.2GHz, I recently upgraded from an i5-3570K to an i7-3770) or an i7-3770K on the used market for a reasonable price, you're going to have to replace your mobo and RAM if you upgrade your CPU.

Let's cut to the chase, what's your actual spending budget here? Monitor included. So far you've mentioned a €400 monitor budget and an €800-ish GPU.

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor (€176.85 @ Amazon Espana)
Motherboard: MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard (€75.97 @...
You're looking at a ~24" monitor. To get the height limit, you'll need an adjustable height stand. (this one is marketed as 14.1" w/ stand, probably fully lowered)

Why not remove the hutch from your desk? Or modify it to accept taller monitors?

If you're talking about 24" monitors, and the hardware tier you're currently in, you're better off with a 1080p resolution monitor. Not only is that a generally acceptable pixel density to most users, but lower resolution is less taxing on hardware (so you spend less $ on GPU to drive your monitor). If you're looking at a $300-$500 GPU upgrade, then sure, go with 2k (and get FreeSync).

Thanks a lot for your reply.

It's impossible change my furniture sorry, it has some shelves that can't be moved so I'm restricted to 14,56 inches(37 cm) height.

Thanks a lot for your display link and advice, I believed I couldn't find any display with more than 19" that could have height less than 14,56 inches.

Actually I'm using a LG 20EN33SS-B 19.5" LED with 1600x900 resolution that is close to 1080p but I was thinking to change it or even use it as second monitor.

Regards and thanks a lot tennis2

You might consider looking here and the consideration of something other than a pedestal mount.

According to the link you have posted, I set:
Select predefined format: 4K Ultra HD (3840×2160) 16:9
Height 14,56" and press calculate button and this are the specifications output:

But now I see it should exist 4k monitors with a height of 14,56, how to find one?

Regards and thanks a lot!!!

With all due respect, it's not impossible. It's furniture. 2 years ago I completely disassembled, modified, and reassembled the hutch for my desk to fit a 27"monitor (height and width) instead of 23.8" max.

I get it though.

Pythagorean theorem - 16:9 aspect ratio, 14.56" height = 29.7" total diagonal (including bezels) on just a screen. That would probably require you to have more than just an adjustable monitor stand. Something like an aftermarket monitor mount so the base of the screen is literally sitting on the desk.
If it's 2 inches off the desk, that brings you down to 25" including bezels. Like I said, 24" monitor with an adjustable stand.

Hi.

Thanks but I don't see myself doing that work, specially when I don't have tools, knowledge and what is most important skills to do it :).

Here there is a picture of my furniture:
OBbS6Tc.jpg

So with that one you can make a idea of what I'm talking about :(.

I have another furniture at right side but is not a computer table where you can introduce legs, it has drawers and if I think in using it as computer table I would have to approach a bit to reach keyboard so my back wouldn't be close to office chair back but I could buy a cushion that could fit that gap, something like this cushion: https://www.amazon.es/Esponja-Memoria-Belpink-Respaldo-Ergonómico/dp/B077FPJD8X?ref_=fspcr_pl_dp_2_2822877031

So in case I would choose that approach, which 4k curved display and gpu would you recommend me?
What do you think about this display?

https://www.amazon.es/ANTGAMER-M34G5Q-Pulgadas-UWQHD-Pixel/dp/B07X35886M/ref=sr_1_4?fst=as:eek:ff&qid=1582874010&refinements=p_n_feature_browse-bin:11962381031,p_n_feature_ten_browse-bin:13051395031\c13051396031&rnid=13051390031&s=computers&sr=1-4&th=1

It has great looking but I didn't find any official support page (it's a korean brand I think), I only found nl review:
https://tweakers.net/productreview/223112/antgamer-m34g5q-zwart.html

Thanks in advance

Hi.

I have another furniture at my right side but is not a computer desktop or table so I can't introduce legs and it's a bit high to reach keyboard and I would have to approach as much as I could. There I could put a 2k or 4k curved monitor:

So I would like to keep getting advice about this display https://click.linksynergy.com/deeplink?id=kXQk6*ivFEQ&mid=44583&u1=tomshardware-9826237112748400000&murl=https://www.newegg.com/dell-p2418d-24-qhd/p/0JC-0004-006E2 or go ahead and use this furniture (previous image) and buy a 2k or 4k display and appropiate gpu which also I would like to get advice too if it's not too much to ask.

Thanks in advance

tbh, that's gonna be a tight fit. Even my old 22'' 16:9 screen is 42.5 cm/ 16 3/4'' high.
A quick search gave me 8 monitors that are curved and below 40 cm/15,45'' high. And none of them are coming below 37cm/14.56'' except for a single 1080 display.

If we leave out that it has to be curved, a quick search came out with some screens >1080p that are below your 37cm including stand:
 • Dell P2418D, 23.8", 2560x1440, 35.7 cm/14,06''
 • AOC Agon AG241QX, 23.8", 2560x1440, 21.3cm/8.39''
 • Acer B6 B276HUL, 27'', 2560x1440, 36.7cm/14.45''
 • Dell P2415Q, 24", 3840x2160, 37cm/14.56''
 • Dell S2417DG, 23.8", 2560x1440, 36.4cm/14.33''

No idea how good they are, it was just a quick search. (especially the AOC seems awfully low, but maybe it just has such a short stand)

Most screens in that size will be around 39-40 cm (15.35-15.75'') including stand
Another option would be to mount the screen to the wall and get rid of the stand, that would give you more room for the actual screen, but you might get your fingers in your fov.

What's your current PC specs?

Motherboard GIGABYTE Z77X-D3H
Motherboard Chipset Intel Z77 (Panther Point DH)
CPU Intel Core i5-3570K (Ivy Bridge-DT)
GPU ATI/AMD Radeon HD 7950/R9 280
RAM

Yes, my RAM was a bad selection mixing different ram frequencies, I don't know why I did it, probably 4 modules of 8GB was out of my budget so I decided reach 20GB mixing different frecuencies.

I chose that motherboard and cpu because my brother told me that was very overclockeable and had a very good performance so if baldur's gate 3 in 4k needs more cpu I could overclock it.

Regards and thanks

I will check each one you found including the first one the dell second post advice. https://www.newegg.com/global/es-en/dell-p2418d-24-qhd/p/0JC-0004-006E2 .

What about my gpu? Will I have to change it to play baldur's gate 3 in 2k or 4k?

I appreciate a lot your help.

Thanks again

Hi. I found a video where there is a review of several monitor arms:
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__K4V8pFhf4&feature=youtu.be

With that item I could get larger monitor removing the stand with the limits I mentioned above, maximum of 14,56" or 37 cm, the only prerequisite is that monitor should have VESA Mount, so my question is, could you help me to find 4k monitor under 14,56" or 37 cm without stand (so screen could be bigger up to max of 32" according to this monitor arm https://www.amazon.es/1home-Ajustab...84238466&sprefix=soporte+brazo,aps,164&sr=8-3 ) but with VESA mount and weight under 10kg(it's the maximum weight the cheapest arm can hold), curved, with high frequency, IPS, HDR, display port, low response time,?

Regards and thanks in advance

resolution = > $$$ on GPU to drive playable frame rates. Also, at 4k you lose >100Hz options.
MSI MAG271CQR = €400

Even for 1440p, you're looking at a minimum of around a RTX2060/5600XT < 5700 < RTX2060 Super < 5700XT. Which will put you anywhere from:
5600XT = €289.89
5700XT = €425.15

What PSU do you have?

Your i5-3570K is quickly becoming the limiting factor in this performance tier. Even if you OC it to 4.2-4.3GHz (which you should do anyway).

Also, unless you know you NEED >16GB of RAM, you'll probably get better performance by removing that 2x2GB DDR3-1600 kit from your machine. That's slowing down your DDR3-2400 kit.

Hi and thanks.

I was thinking in buy a RTX 2080 Super

My PSU is Corsair RM 550

In this video, a youtuber is using same processor than mine in battlefield5 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB, and it doesn't seems that game runs bad.

If I should have to change processor, which one? will I have to change motherboard and ram too?

Let's cut to the chase, what's your actual spending budget here? Monitor included.

Well, I have found in used market a RTX 2080 super for 520€, a bit more than 5700XT = €425.15 and I get around +25% more in speed according to user benchmark: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compa...-AMD-RX-5700XT-50th-Anniversary/4050vsm845537, I would decide for 5700XT if would be more cheaper. I have seen in used market 5700XT even more expensive than RTX 2080 Super.

Here a comparison list from gpucheck using my processor i5-3570k:
RTX 2080 SUPER https://www.gpucheck.com/en-usd/gpu/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2080-super/intel-core-i5-3570-3-40ghz/ultra Average 4K Performance 51.4 FPS
GTX 1080 ti https://www.gpucheck.com/en-usd/gpu/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-ti/intel-core-i5-3570-3-40ghz/ultra Average 4K Performance 49.4 FPS
GTX 1080 https://www.gpucheck.com/en-usd/gpu/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080/intel-core-i5-3570-3-40ghz/ultra Average 4K Performance 42.2 FPS
RX 5700 https://www.gpucheck.com/en-usd/gpu/amd-radeon-rx-5700/intel-core-i5-3570k-3-40ghz/ultra Average 4K Performance 38.5 FPS

At the moment I'm checking prices at second market and found 1080ti for around 250€ against 520€ from 2080 super that would give me some more fps and in case my cpu could take advantage of all power from that gpu that I think there will be a bottleneck in cpu. Also I will check prices for 1080 that won't be so different from 1080ti.

Anyway I can wait until black friday or amazon prime day and Nvidia is about to launch new gpus so I think 2080 could reduce prices, and even more in black friday or amazon prime day.

I was checking https://www.gpucheck.com/best-gaming-monitors there is a list about gaming monitors, I found acer nitro xv3 xv273k that has this height:
Height374.7 mm (millimeters) 37.47 cm (centimeters) 14.752 in (inches) 1.2293 ft (feet)
It could fit I think but it's a bit expensive, so I will keep searching.

Thanks a lot for your help.
