Something fell off my laptop, help me in recognizing it.

It looks like a switch or keycap.

It's a tact switch. Is there a missing button on your laptop? Or a button that doesn't work anymore? That's the switch that would be behind a button or membrane.

@mortemas i found it, its novo switch(lenovo y510p). Now i am unable to start my laptop, is it because of broken novo switch?

If it is the power switch....you should see two contacts where it fell off.

If you briefly connect these contacts (with a paperclip or whatever).....it should power up.

@jay32267 power button is working fine, laptop is just not booting up properly, laptop shows power light for 1-1.5 second & then everything goes silent.

What switch did it come from?

If the problem is being caused by that falling off....it can only be one of two things.....either those two terminals on the PC need to be shorted or open.

@jay32267 its swith for BIOS menu, not power button.
