Hi There,

I am going to make a new budget PC for my home office. I will be having around 8-10 tabs open at a time in my chrome. I use Google Apps a lot. I use outlook, Skype as well as Microsoft Excel etc. I am basically a freelancer and my main field is Web Research. I have various options in front of me from Intel as well as AMD. I am putting prices in INR and I am from India.

So here's the first one - http://cgi.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=201066523963&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:IN:1123

I dont know if core2duo is good enough but yep I am getting full kit in 5400 and another 2 gigs of ram would cost me 400 INR more.

Core2Quad kit will cost me 8000 approx and mobo will be G41 as per seller

Now here are some processors from AMD.... if they are better then core2duo then I can consider them too

I need proccessor and motherboard suggestions only. My budget is tight. Want to save money on every bit possible but of course want to invest in good stuff. So HELP ME OUT =)

Solution

if you mean the asrock h61m-vs3, it supports cpus with 1155 socket, and the pentium g2020 is in the support list of that mobo

Are you going to build a new PC from scratch that is you won't be using any parts from previous build? If so, what is your budget? That would really help us to suggest the parts.

Okay. The main issue is prices in USA and India have differences but still let me try to make this a bit specific. I already have a case and PSU. PSU is iball one it's very good. I also have a sata hard drive and a lcd. That's all I got my budget is around 8-9k INR. Means around $170. I seek Mobo, CPU and Ram in this price. I dont want a seperate graphic card. I prefer to buy from these websites - flipkart.com snapdeal.com ebay.in amazon.in any other indian site will be good as well.

hello, the first kit its looks fine for the jobs that you need the pc, coreduo is enought, you dont need something better. the main issue with that kit is the 2gb ram(1+1). many tabs in chrome +apps+skype+excel etc, requares a lot of ram so the 2gb will not be enought, in my opinion you need at least 3gb, 4gb will be great. But the problem with that mobo is that it have 2 RAM slots and the kit gives you 2 ram 1+1. So even if you buy 1 more ram 2gb, you will have 3gbmax, and the 1 ram that you bought will be useless.

My advice is buy a cpu 2.0+ghz celeron or coreduo, a mobo to support the cpu and 4gb ram ddr2 or ddr3 depends the mobo.

I have talked with seller he will upgrade it 4 GB for free =)

Out of celeron and core 2 duo which one is better?

Nice then, that kit is good enought for the jobs that you need to do.

The ivy bridge celeron I linked is better than that core 2.

What about AMD APUs ? :S

Is that your final budget? If you're willing to increase your budget, specify that.

Yes I can increase it. I am actually going to make 2 builds. One is totally high end with AMD FX 8350 but I do need another one which will run for around 12 hours every day as I need to keep one for short tasks. I can push it more, it all depends upon you guys =) I am new to hardware so I dont have enough knowledge here. I could add around 50-60$ more I believe.

Around 11-12K rupees.I really liked your earlier recommendations. It was a killing one. I could put 3rd gen i3,i5 and i7 in that mobo that will make it a lot of future proof. Please give me any further recommendation you have =)

I will put an i5 after a year. Give me one from pentium G2020 (3400INR) or celeron (2300INR)

perhaps the best build you can take in that money(new build not used 1). if you want something cheaper change the cpu to a intel pentium G2020 2.9ghz

That's really an awesome build but I think I will have to go for either Pentium or Celeron for. Can you please suggest me best and cheapest build for those as well? Which mobo will go best? Asrock or MSI? And cheapest ram? Sorry for this whole confusion, actually my budget might fluctuate anytime so I want to have a back up for that.
