Looking to get a new monitor very soon and i've narrowed it down to two choices.
it's either going to be the asus VG248QE
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313

or this korean 1440p monitor

i usually wouldn't go for a korean brand but my buddy at work has one and he said it's amazing for the price, only had one dead pixel and you can't even see it unless you're an inch away from the screen. I guess my only worry would be is if my rig can handle it. I'm running a gigabyte gtx 770 with 4gb of vram. I only play games like payday 2 and counter strike: go and sometimes fallout, but i'm really wanting gta v when it comes out this fall. i know i won't be able to max out all games with the 1440p one but my buddy said games still look great with high settings and minimal anti aliasing. I guess my question is should i go with the korean 1440p or stick to a 1080p monitor due to my graphics card not being good enough?

Solution
Get the VG248QE. Excellent monitor, with a 144Hz refresh rate. It is extremely smooth and is also 3D ready.

I have it and love it, I am considering buying 2 more :)

i might just do that seeing as i play a lot of shooters and i've never owned a monitor that goes higher than 60hz, is there a big difference?

Absolutely. Put a 60hz monitor next to a 144hz monitor and you will start to see how much the 60hz monitor lags and blurs. its like (not literally) getting an extra 84 FPS in a game.

Try it in 3D if you get it. You will just need a 3D kit.
