Help me pick a monitor!

Hello! Brand new user here, and I really need some help. I bought a canon 80D to do some short films and intermediate photography. I also bought a 2015 MacBook Pro fully loaded, and I want to run a desktop style setup. I already have all the goodies except the monitor. Any suggestions on what monitor works best for me in my situation? Thank you!

If you want clarity, go for a 1440p or 4k monitor.
