I am looking for a new router for my home setup. I have an HP Pavilion i5 PC and an IPhone 6s that i use all day/night. I'm not a gamer but I use both my devices a lot for day trading, ebay, email, etc. I've been using an older Dlink DIR-615 wireless router (2010 i think?) in my home for several years now and its been ok (I do have to reset it couple times week). Anyways I am looking to purchase a new router for my home. I think I only paid $30 for my Dlink but looking online i see routers as high as $300. I'm only looking to spend around $50 since the router is just for me (1 user). Honestly I have no idea what to look for but I do want excellent speeds, reliability and of course security! Suggestions?

I would get the hex and use the old router as just a wireless access point.

Have a look at these 2 routers. Both have decent reviews and I believe are newer products.

TP-Link AC1200 Wireless Wi-Fi Dual Band Fast Ethernet Router (Archer C50)

TENDA AC9 Wireless AC1200 Dual Band Gigabit Router

Looking over the specs, I would say they are pretty nice routers. There are certainly many more out there to choose from, but these 2 look pretty decent to me.

They're sold on Amazon and Newegg and various other sites around the web. They're also both around $50 on Amazon right now.
