My GF needs a laptop for college its primary purpose will be things like Photoshop and general use but me and her both enjoy PC gaming from time to time so we want a solid GPU (but do not care to run the latest games at 1080p or anything)

Our budget is about 750$

This is in first place right now because Lenovo build quality and honestly I have not found an overall better PC for less (Decent battery life would be preferred and since this has a "U" processor it should ensure that)

You should look at this new Skylake ASUS. Not bad for $640 (pre-order)

ASUS Laptop X555UB-NH51 Intel Core i5 6200U (2.30 GHz) 8 GB Memory 1 TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce 940M 15.6" Windows 10 Home

Right now this is really good for $690: ASUS Laptop X555LB-NS71 Intel Core i7 5500U (2.40 GHz) 8 GB Memory 1 TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce 940M 15.6" Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Show the newegg link for your gf... She will want it badly :D

I would recommend the first one filippi posted if you can wait a week. The i7 U series aren't a big deal over their i5 U counterparts, so I don't recommend forking out the extra cash for one. There are some Acer i5 5200u/940m models on Newegg to be had for just under $500 as well, which is a pretty good deal. I have a couple, replaced the screens with IPS, added 8GB of RAM, and a 250GB SSD and are into them a little over $600 each (they were around $450 with coupon code when I bought them).

The GPU is a little better in the Lenovo and I prefer AMD over Nvidia (though an Nvidia is not a deal breaker) so far I am sticking with the Lenovo. If anyone else or you guys have any other suggestions let me know!

For you sure but for your gf i really dont know. R9 M275 is 60W and 940M is 30W.
This is usually a deal breaker with girls: They dont like note-toasters like us :D
