I have a Chinese copy of a Samsung Galaxy Ace and it cost me only £109 British. It does everything I need and has all the features except a GPS chip so it can't handle SatNav options. it can work the Maps apps by wireless networks or by a data connection locating where you are at the time. They don't pass it off as a clone or a Samsung. Its' worked well for me for over six months.
It mis-reports the operating system as 4.0.3 but as near as I can tell, it's 2.3.6. My only concern is when the battery gives out, how do I locate a replacement without knowing the manufacturer but I'll worry about that when it starts to show signs of wearing out.
If you search e-Bay Mobile Phone section for an BP-I9300 you should find the people I bought mine from. It has been good value for money and its biggest advantage is its dual SIMS facility - hard to find in the UK but invaluable for me as I can use my EE (Orange) SIM in the UK and my Lebara NL SIM in Holland and both work in any country.
