Hello. I am building a new PC and i am stuck with motherboard. I have two options. MSI b650m Mortar wifi and MSI b650m Gaming Plus Wifi. They both have enough for my gaming build. 650m gaming plus looks more interesting and 30$ cheaper, i would like to choose it. But only a difference which i am interested in is VRM size. Mortar is 12+2+1 and Gaming Plus is 10+2+1.
Right now i am building it on 7800X3D. Im sure both of them are enough. But what about future upgrade. For example if 8800X3D will be 150Watt. Will Gaming plus handle it at 100%. I cannot figure out this VRM sizes with real watt supply.

You will be fine with the Gaming Wifi board. It is already rated for the 7950x which comes in rated at 170 watts. Get the motherboard that fits your other needs for memory, storage, etc.
Bro all motherboards rate 7950x in their officfial page. Even A620. I dont trust pages anymore. Thats why i am asking here if any technician understand it well

Note that the touted VRM configurations on enthusiasts boards are more an advertisement tool than anything else. 99% of them are major overkill.
Both those VRM configurations will work fine for even the 7950X. As far as future CPU generations go, no one knows for sure. I wouldn't sweat buying either of those boards for this gen's AND next gen's chips, unless you plan on getting into LN2 cooling and extreme overclocking.
