My computer has been getting the BSOD a lot recently( IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL). I can't do anything on it without getting it. And sometimes my screen will cut out and not register my PC being hooked up to it. I ran a memtest on it and it popped up with the bluescreen half way through which, according to the website, means it's my CPU. But I don't want to shell out $$ for a new one without knowing for sure. And my desktop is a HP Pavilion p6520y
My Specs:
CPU: AMD Athlon ll 635 quad core processor
GC: GeForce GTX 465
And the rest is all stock

With any pc make sure all the fans are moving and your cards and ram and power cables are locked in. If your system has two or more dimms take out all the dimms but one then try running memtest off of a boot disk. If the system blue screens again swap the dimm. If the system blue screens again see if a friend has power supply you can use to test your pc with. Over the years I seen very few bad CPU. Ones I seen have been heat damaged or over volted. Most unstable systems I seen have been ram or a power supply that drops below atx spec.

Yes all fans are working correctly. I shall try the DIMM thing tomorrow when I'm off work. And Calvin, on the cable it says 10A 125V and 1250W. So I don't think it is. I will open my case and check the power supply itself tomorrow as well
I bought this computer used off of someone so I don't know if the cable was switched out or not
