Help me please

Im in the middle of building a pc and I thought everything was all good then I turned it on the fans and lights went on but nothing on my monitor?

what do you mean by in the middle?

until you get so far you wont get any display

Everything is in I just dont know if its all plugged in correctly im pretty sure it is but what would be causing this?

could be a few things

did you plug in the 4/8 pin power

Ive plugged in everything that I could but im not sure if its 100% correct

the 4/8 pin is usually up around the top left corner of the motherboard looking at the board once its installed somewhere close to the cpu

yes it probably will be labelled cpu

Ok it powered on then went off again then booted up again, normal?

yes it can do a double post do you have display now?

No still no display any other ideas?

are you using a graphics card or just integrated graphics?

Im using a graphics card

make sure any 6 pin or 8 pin connectors are connected to the graphics card

make sure your monitor is connected to the graphics card not integrated graphics

Ok that worked but it said cpu fan error so I shut it down what could be wrong?

A system spec would be handy, then people would know what needs power and what doesnt.
Make sure the system speaker is plugged in to listen for any beeps (motherboards still do that right?), some have an onboard LED error number you should look for.

Do you have a heatsink and fan attached to the CPU?

Make sure you connect the power from that fan into the header on the motherboard labeled CPU fan

connect the cpu fan to the cpu fan header

definitely to the cpu and not cpu opt? (optional)

does the pump connector on that look the same as the fan connector?

if so you may have connected the pump to the cpu header instead of the fan
