Hello Toms hardware community, I am having a very tuff day with My windows operating system, and their customer support. I have called the exactly 9 times and I've been hung up on twice, none of them have been helpful and most of them don't even know what I am trying to say. That's okay though I'm a very patient person so help is greatly appreciated. Now, for my very simple question. A while ago I built my nephew a brand new gaming PC. The parts got screwed due to overheating even though it had just about the best air coolers corsair makes. Now I have built Him a new PC and I was able to recover the SSD that had Windows on it. Now, is that Windows still valid and can I use it on a brand new computer? (Yes, I still have the product key, but no install disc) Thank you!

If the license was retail, you can simply follow the instructions at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 to make a new installer.

If it was OEM, you can try to calmly explain that the original machine broke in a short time and you would like to be able to reuse the OEM license (they have every right to reject that, but if you are nice about it they often help if possible). If they refuse, go buy a new retail license (so you don't have the issue again)

Unless the parts are...

Unless the parts are the same as before, I highly recommend a full reformat.
