I have recently upgraded to a new soltek sl-75kav-x mobo and a t-bird 900 mhz. I have previously not attempted to overclock anything but the mobo offers automatic overclocking. In the bios setup there is a program called redstorm overclock, it increases the external clock of your chip untill it finds a safe level. Using this i rebooted my machine and found i now had a 990mhz chip, bonus, i thought but when it came to load windows it offered me a start options menu and said there was a problem with the registry and i should run scanreg. I tried to start windows in safe mode but to no avail. My friend said that it may be because i have only 100mhz ram. please help me. Also if i can get it working at 990 is my cpu in any danger?

That's pretty wierd...The registry should have nothing to do with the OC. I can't rememer does soltek offer multiplier alteration? If so you should OC it that way instead of using the FSB.

Sounds like the ram to me, in the bios where there is no real streas on the ram it checks out good but when you put it to work it craps out and the registry gets corrupted. Try Multiplier at 10*100 for 1G.
