Help me please

Two weeks ago i tried to reinstall windows but it seems like windows doesn't recognize my hard rive , i tried linux , same problem. I have a SATA hard disk but i tried to mount other hard disks (ide,sata) , same problem . A friend of mine told me that i could solve the problem by updating my bios but i want more information

mother board version : MSI A7529IMS V4.7 072810

BIOS VERSION : American Megatrends V4.7 07282010 V02.61

Does the BIOS detect the hard drive correctly? Is it connected to the SATA 0 port?

Is the boot order set to CD/DVD and then the hard drive?

Yes , the bios detect the hard drive correctly , i don't know what SATA 0 means and the boot order is : HDD then cd/dvd
